Hydra Needle or Derma Pen: what each one is
Integrity PRP sells two microneedling tools that do different jobs. Here is what each one is, and what Integrity says it is best for.
Hydra Needle
The Hydra Needle has 20 titanium and 24K gold-plated needles. It creates microchannels with a stamping motion, and it comes in three depths: 0.6mm, 1.0mm and 1.5mm. It is single-use and sterile.
Any serum can go through it, and so can PRP. That includes vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid and amniotic fluid.
Integrity lists it for serum infusion, PRP delivery, hair restoration, scar and stretch mark reduction, and clients who are newer to microneedling and want minimal discomfort.
Derma Pen
The Derma Pen is an automatic microneedling pen. You set the needle depth (0 to 2.5mm) and choose from five speed levels. It takes 9, 12 and 36 pin cartridges, and it comes with two 12-pin cartridges, a charger and a travel case. The cartridges are sterile and single-use.
Integrity describes it as giving consistent, high-precision collagen stimulation across larger treatment areas, and says it pairs naturally with PRP and serums after treatment.
Integrity lists it for advanced microneedling, texture and tone correction, fine lines and scarring, and high-volume practices that want repeatable, scalable results.
Side by side
The Hydra Needle is a single-use, sterile stamping tool built around delivering serums and PRP. The Derma Pen is an electric pen with adjustable depth and speed.
A note on the science
The authors of a 2025 narrative review in Cureus report that the micropores microneedling creates increase skin permeability, and that fibroblasts migrate to the wounded area to start collagen and elastin production. The review covers microneedling in general. It does not study either of these products. (Tehrani L, Tashjian M, Mayrovitz HN. Cureus 2025;17(3):e80510)
