Butterfly & Vacutainer FAQ
What is a butterfly needle used for?
A butterfly needle is a specialized blood collection needle used to draw blood for procedures such as PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) treatments. Its flexible wings and tubing allow healthcare providers to access veins with greater precision and control, making it especially useful for patients with smaller or more delicate veins.
Do butterfly needles hurt less?
Many patients report that butterfly needles are more comfortable than traditional blood draw needles. Their smaller size and
increased maneuverability can help minimize discomfort during venipuncture. However, pain perception varies from person to person, and factors such as vein quality and provider technique also play a role. What is the difference between a normal needle and a butterfly needle?
The primary difference is in the design. A butterfly needle features flexible tubing and wing-like grips that allow for greater control during blood collection. Traditional straight needles connect directly to the collection tube holder and are often used for routine blood draws. Butterfly needles are commonly preferred when working with small, fragile, rolling, or difficult-to-access veins because they provide improved stability and precision.

Calcium Chloride Vial (Activator)
Calcium chloride is used to activate platelets and initiate the body’s natural clotting cascade. When added to platelet-rich plasma (PRP), it can stimulate the release of growth factors and support the formation of a fibrin matrix, which may enhance the biological activity of PRP. The use of calcium chloride is optional in PRP preparation and is based on the clinical judgment and discretion of the licensed medical professional performing the procedure.

Jerry has been my Rep for 6 years. I can always count on him to take care of our business and the Integrity PRP products he offers are high quality. I recently ordered the post-procedure masks and we are very happy with results for our micro-needling clients. I also use the PRP Kits regularly and they are always sterile and function as expected. I never hesitate to recommend Jerry and Integrity to my colleagues.

Platelet-Rich Plasma Tube FAQs
What does the separation gel do?
Our Integrity Platelet-Rich Plasma Tubes utilizes a separator gel to isolate the platelets while eliminating the undesirable components such as red blood cells and inflammatory white blood cells. Integrity Platelet-Rich Plasma Tubes allows you to remove red cells, white cells and platelet poor plasma (PPP) without removing a high percentage of platelets. With higher concentrations you can deliver a higher number of total platelets in fewer injections.
How long do you spin the Integrity PRP Tube in the Integrity PRP Centrifuge?
We recommend you spin the Integrity Platelet-Rich Plasma Tube at 3500 rpm for 9 minutes.

Microcannula
Our micro cannula, also known as micro-cannula, are an excellent way to inject dermal fillers and PRP. They ensure that the filler is injected into the deeper layers of the skin while using one insertion point. These disposable micro cannulas have a blunt, flexible tip. This reduces the risk of bruising and swelling, making the procedure more comfortable for your patient. Each box comes with 25.
Microcannula FAQs
Difference between microcannulas vs. traditional needles?
Microcannulas and needles are similar in size, but instead of a sharp point at the end, the microcannulas have a rounded end with an opening on the side. They are flexible and bend with pressure while needles are rigid and pierce the skin and blood vessels.
How is the usage of a microcannula different from a regular needle injection?
A microcannula will still need a needle to make an entry point into the skin, but because of its blunt tip it will not break veins or arteries therefore producing far less bruising and swelling than a needle used for the sample purpose.
Benefits of using a blunt tip injection versus conventional needles that tend to be rigid?
Because of the blunt-tip and flexibility of the microcannulas, they are able to push blood vessels out of the way during injections. Therefore, they cause less trauma to blood vessels, which means less bleeding under the skin, therefore less bruising.
What is a microcannula?
A microcannula is a slim, flexible, hollow instrument with a rounded (blunt) tip, commonly used in aesthetic procedures to deliver dermal fillers or bio fillers beneath the skin. Instead of piercing tissue like a sharp needle, it gently navigates through it, which helps minimize trauma—leading to less bruising, swelling, and discomfort. Its design also lowers the likelihood of entering blood vessels, improving overall safety during injections.
What is the difference between Microcannula and a cannula?
A microcannula differs from a standard cannula primarily in size, flexibility, and purpose. Microcannulas are much thinner, more flexible, and specifically designed for cosmetic injections like dermal fillers, allowing them to glide smoothly between tissue layers with minimal trauma.
In contrast, traditional cannulas are typically larger and more rigid, often used in medical or surgical settings for tasks like fluid delivery or drainage. Because of their design, microcannulas provide greater precision, reduce bruising and swelling, and improve safety compared to standard cannulas.

PRP Kit with Biotin FAQs
Can biotin help with hair growth?
Yes. Keratin, a basic protein that makes up your hair, needs biotin to be produced. Adding biotin to PRP injections increases your body’s keratin infrastructure, which translates into healthier and stronger hair. Combining PRP with Biotin, when applied directly to hair follicles, encourages them to grow new healthy and thick hair.
What is Biotin?
Biotin (vitamin B7) is an important part of enzymes in the body that helps break down substances like carbohydrates and fats and amino acids. Biotin is usually found in foods like bananas, milk and eggs. Symptoms of low biotin levels include thinning hair, scaly facial rash and brittle nails. Adding biotin to your hair restoration treatments can greatly improve these symptoms.
